| She's giving me the look, "Really? Another picture? Can't you see that I'm trying to look at a book?" |
Finally...the shirt is finished. I've been trying to get this special little shirt made for my girl for a few weeks now.
First, the dilemma was finding the white shirt in her size (finally, found it at Target).
Then, there was the embroidery thread dilemma. Where did one of my darlings hide it? Searched and searched, but had no luck. So, I had to get some more.
Then there was the time dilemma. When in the world do I have time to sit down and sew a little something?
Well, all the stars must have aligned yesterday because I was able to get it done. Yay! I definitely had a Coke break after all of that:)
Quick How-to:
First, I lightly wrote with a piece of the kids' chalk (because I didn't have one of those fancy tailor's chalk pencils) what I wanted to sew.
Then, with an embroidery needle and thread, I went to town with my sewing. You may be wondering what the little wad of thread is at the top on the back of the shirt. Well, look below, it's a little something extra!
I bet you'll be running to your kid's closet to look for a shirt (or onesie) you can sew on as soon as you leave your computer. I know I would, too. I can't wait to see how it turns out:)

Your little girl is adorable. You also did a great job on her shirt. She looks so good in it. I found your blog on MBC and you said you were a new blogger. I remember trying to get mine started. Still isn't the way I want it but I will get it there. I'm a new follower also.

Love the shirt. Very cute. I have a boy, so he's not likely to want to wear this shirt.
I'm a new follower.

Perfectly adorable, and the shirt is pretty sweet too :)
You asked me where I got the coffee sacks (sorry, you don't have an email associated with your blogger acount, so I couldn't email you back)
I got them for free at a coffee brewing company close to me. Sorry, but it's in Ontario, Canada.
Great job! I am really intimidated by embroidery but I love it...have to add it to my to do list.
This is an awesome post, I would really love it if you linked this up to Masterpiece Monday at Boogieboard Cottage as well! Have a nice Week! Mary :O)
How sweet! I need to pick me up a Taylor's chalk too but I never think about it when I'm in the store! I used a pink kids chalk one time and it stained my fabric and ruined my project :( That's when I remember to I need a real Taylor's chalk pencil.
Thank you for linking up to "Amaze Me Monday" blog party. Hope to see you next Monday!
It came out really well very cute and simple.
