The Cutest St. Patrick's Day Hair Clip Ever!

Is this the cutest St. Patrick's Day hair clip you've ever seen or what?!  If you're like me, you've probably seen them at boutiques or on etsy, but just didn't know how to make them.  Well, not today.  Let me show you how so that your girl will have the perfect accessory for the Irish holiday.
Grab yourself some green 3/8" grosgrain ribbon and cut 6 pieces that are 3 1/4" each.  If you don't want one as big as my girl's, cut them a little shorter.  Make sure you seal the ends of each piece by getting the tips close to a lighter.  Just don't catch it on fire. You'll see that this method is easy and just pulls the ribbons ends right up.  It leaves a nice end that won't fray.
With your hot glue gun, glue two stips together as shown.  Make sure you put the vertical strip on top.
Now, flip the bottom piece under and glue.
Here's where it gets a little tricky.  To get that woven look, you need to flip your top horizontal strip and weave it under and over and put a dab of hot glue.
I definitely should have turned this picture, but it's a little late for that now.  So, if you just tilt your head to the right, you'll see that my middle finger is on the point of the heart, and I'm flipping up the left side so that I can put a dab of glue there, too.  I really could have used a third hand about now...lol.
Here's what your woven heart will look like.  Now make two more just like that one.
Now it's time to prepare your alligator clip; so cut a 4" piece of ribbon.
Hot glue your ribbon to the top of the clip.  Once you do that, push the clip open and put a strip of glue on the bottom of the inside of the clip and fold your ribbon on top of the glue.  Now shut your clip, and slide your finger over it a couple of times to smooth out the glue that's under the ribbon.

Now you need to arrange your three hearts to look like a woven clover.  Once you've done that, cut a small piece of ribbon about 3/4" and then cut it in half lengthwise.
Pick up two of your arranged hearts, being careful not to mix them up and then turn them over.  Take one of the cut pieces from above and glue it to the back of the two in order to keep them together.  Pick up your last heart and do the same so that all of your hearts are stuck together.
You can see by looking at the back of mine that the two small strips that we just glued on are pointing up towards the top of the clover.
This is what your finished clover will look like on the front.  Just glue your clip to the back and add a little bling if you want.  I did by hot gluing a crystal at the top of the stem, but you certainly don't have to.  It looks super-complicated, but it's really not.  I hope you make one for your girl.  She'll be the talk of the town, and you can say that you made it!  Go on and have a Coke now.  You deserve it!

Awesomeness! I make these, but I've never made a tutorial for them. I put one on a project I posted on my blog and everyone wanted to know how I made it. I had to tell them I didn't have instructions. I'm going to send them your way!
