The other night, my oldest said the sweetest thing to God in his prayer. I had to write it down because I don’t ever want to forget it, and I’m sharing it with you because I think a child’s thoughts are sometimes the most sincere and are said from a truly grateful heart, and it’s something we, as adults, need to have, too. So, here are two sentences from his prayer that are simply beautiful,
Dear God, thank you for this world. It’s a really great place.
Are you a little teary, yet? I know I was. It’s simple, but very meaningful. We hear, everyday, how awful our world is becoming and how bleak the future looks, but through the eyes of a child, he sees it for what God made it to be… “a really great place.” It’s true. God made this world for us. He spoke into existence our beautiful world- a world with a sun to warm us during the day and a moon to light our way at night, a world with earthworms that wiggle and puppy dogs that wag their little tails, a world where people are loving to one another and daily hugs and kisses are a given.
Is the world he looks at the same world you live in? If it’s not, it can be. You are in control of your world and can make it what you want it to be. So, look at that blue sky you see beyond those green leaves in the trees and breathe in that oxygen that those trees are making for you. God made it for you!
