...and they lived happily ever after.

Wowzers!  What a wedding we all watched this morning!  It was truly a fairytale come to life.  A prince meets a lovely girl.  They fall in love, and they get married.

It was the story you tell your little girl.  You know the one you tell where she meets Prince Charming and falls in love, and they live happily ever after.

As I watched this morning, all of those same feelings I had on my wedding day came flooding back.  I was just as nervous for Kate today as I was almost nine years ago.

So, let's celebrate love today.  Let's celebrate living happily ever after.

Me and my Prince Charming.

Why Not Use a Coke Bottle?

Here's my take on the wall decor from Flamingo Toes.  I used an old frame that was once my mother-in-law's.  It didn't have any glass and was pretty beat up, and I just didn't know how I could use it until I saw what Beverly did at Flamingo Toes.  However, instead of using a plain vase, I decided to go a different way.

Would you expect that tulip to be in anything other than a Coke bottle?
That's just how I roll!

The Ones Who Hung the Moon!

I've finally decide to show off my wonderful family.  We were able to get a quick group photo on Easter before the kids ran out the door for the Easter egg hunt.

I'm just so honored to be married to this man.  I feel like I've won the marriage jackpot every day.  He is the love of my life, and I am just so happy to be married to him.  Together, he and I have been blessed with the three most wonderful and simply spectacular children to whom being their mother has been my sincere honor and pleasure.

I'm a little mushy, gushy when it comes to my family if you haven't yet figured that out, but who isn't, right?
Couldn't you just sing the praises all day long of the ones in your life who hung the moon?

Go ahead.  The band is playing!

Last Minute Easter Idea!

These are the perfect little colorful additions to your Easter baskets and super easy to make.  They are just broken crayons turned into Easter egg crayons!
I borrowed my friend's Wilton silcone baking mold to make these crayon eggs.

I've been saving my kid's broken crayons for a while now, but you could use new crayons, too.  On a side note, I only use Crayola crayons for this project. Then use an exacto knife to slice down the side of the crayon paper to make it easier to take off.  Now break your crayons into pieces.

Fill up each egg shape with your broken crayons and place the tray on a baking sheet and bake on 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Take them out of the oven and let them cool for a while.  Then just pop your little creations out of the mold.

Aren't they too cute?  Your kids will really enjoy their new crayons the Easter bunny brought this year!

Now go have yourself a Coke!

How to Add a "you might also like" Gadget!

Do you sometimes just daydream about your blog being spectacular, just sparkling from side to side with great features?  Well, I do.  I'm always trying to figure out a little more every day to make my blog a little better.

Today, I figured a little something that most of you guys probably already know, but just in case you don't, I'm going to share it.

So, here it is:
You know how everyone has a "you might also like" section at the bottom of every post?  Well, it's very easy to add to your blog.  Go to http://www.linkwithin.com/ and put in your email and blog URL, and they will give you the html/javascript code so that you can install it as a gadget under your posts.  It really is as easy as it sounds!  Woo-hoo!

Now go have yourself a Coke.  You deserve it.

Soap Dispenser- Easter Style

You know how I just love vinyl, and I'll stick it on just about anything including my nails.  Well, how cute is this soap dispenser?  It was made with my mom's Cricut, of course, and some pink vinyl.  The soap dispenser was a whopping $1 from the Dollar Tree.  She has the Easter cartridge that has been discontinued.  So, boy are we lucky to have it.  It's going for quite a bit on Ebay right now.

Oh Cricut, where are you?
Uh, um, need a little sponsor here.
I talk about you all the time!

It was worth a try, right?

A Motley Crew!

My boys play soccer on Monday nights.  However, does this look like playing?  They said they were too cold to play and were pouting a little.  My husband, who is the coach, didn't know what to do.  It's pretty hard to convince the other kids to play in the cold when you can't get your own to do it.  What's a poor guy to do?  On another note, doesn't our girl look like an absolute diva with that getup on?

More Ruffles- Easter Egg Style!

This apothecary jar filled with hand-painted, wooden Easter eggs was the inspiration for my newest creation.

Wait for it.....

Another ruffled shirt!
  I know, but I just can't help it.  I love ruffles.  I guess I'm just a girly-girl.

Do you love it or what?

Here's the assortment of grosgrain ribbon that I used.

I cut a strip of each kind about 9 3/4" long.

Here are all of my little ruffles.  Don't they look like a bunch of caterpillars?  Go here to view my instructions for making a ruffle.  For this project, however, just sew down the length of the ribbon one time instead of two.

I cut a piece of white felt the size and shape of the Easter egg that I wanted.  Then I took a ruffled ribbon and sewed it across the bottom of the felt egg.  I did the same for the rest of the ribbons until I filled up the egg-shape.

Once the egg was filled up with gorgeous ruffles, I pinned it to the center of one of my girl's white shirts and sewed around the outer edge of the egg with my sewing machine.  Then I trimmed any parts that stuck out and sealed the ribbon edges carefully with a lighter.

Sorry about all the pictures, but I just couldn't stop.  She's just too cute!

Now I think I'm going on a Coke break!

Facebook Follies. Can I get a little help here?

I'm having Facebook woes :-(

Clearly, even though I thought I was somewhat savvy nowadays on the good ole www, I guess I'm not.  I do not do the Facebook thing very well.  I really wanted to make a page for this blog for all of you out there to enjoy, but it's not going well.

First things first, I made a FB page with my blog title.  Okay.  Looks good, right?  However, when I "use Facebook as page" to try to comment on your FB pages, it won't let me.  Anybody else having this issue?

Secondly, apparently you need 25 fans in order to have a proper username.  So, answer me this question.  How does one get 25 fans if one's FB page is not searchable (i.e. type in www.facebook.com/justdrinkacoke).  You would think that those Silicon Valley-type guys would figure this one out.

Finally, I guess if enough of you bloggy friends of mine out there click the "Like" button I put on the sidebar, I'll be able to get a real username.  Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.  Can somebody shed a little light on the subject for me?

Polish, Vinyl, and Crystals, Oh My!

Well, the weather is getting warmer here, and I'm jonesing to wear some flip-flops, but my unpolished toes were not yet ready to be seen in public.

I really wanted to paint them pink, but I didn't have any pink polish.  So I went with a lavender polish.  I thought they looked a little plain, though, because I usually get something special painted on my big toes when I get them done at the nail salon. However, seeing as how it doesn't look like I'm getting to the nail salon any time soon, I improvised.

I remembered that I had borrowed some pink Cricut vinyl from my mom yesterday for me and my BFF to use during our weekly craft (I mean play) group...hehehe.  Since I don't have a Cricut like she and my mom both do, I used an exacto knife and cut out my own design.

Here are the supplies: exacto knife, adhesive-backed vinyl, swarovski crystals.

After I polished my toenails lavender, I let them dry while I cut out my little pink flowers.  Then I just carefully laid my flowers right on my toes.  That kind of vinyl will stick to anything!

I then took my tweezers and grabbed a crystal and put a little clear polish on the bottom of it and stuck it right in the middle of my flower.  I then did the same to my other toe.  After it had a minute or so to dry, I went ahead and gave my whole nail a clear coat, crystal and all.  That design is not going anywhere now!

Now go ahead and prop up those pretty little toes and have a Coke!

Take it Apart. Why Not?

Do you ever just feel the need to take something apart and use it for something other than what it was intended for?  I do.  Case in point, nice wreath, right?  It was on clearance last year at Michael's, and you just can't pass up a great deal.

Now this probably would look great hanging on the wall, but I think it would be better wrapped around my girl's light fixture in her room.
It has pretty pink crystals for the flowers.

It turns out all the leaves and flowers were just wired on a round frame.  Woo-hoo!

Here are all my little flowers and leaves a few minutes later.

Take a look at her plain-jane light.  Boring.  Even she looks bored standing in her bed looking at it, doesn't she?  And, yes, her room really is that pink. :)

I just wired those right to her light.
Pottery Barn-esque, don't you think?
