Best Halloween Joke!

Our dog, Mocha, who is a Weimaraner, and a big one, at that, stepped on my older son's foot yesterday and really hurt it.  So, to make light of the situation, we came up with the BEST joke ever.  Plus, it's the perfect Halloween joke. Joke book publishers, just email me if you want to publish this little gem... hehehe.

What is the scariest type of wound?

A BOO-boo.

Now tell that one your kids this week, and just take in those sweet little giggles!

Happy Birthday to My Dad!

He biked 20 miles on Friday, biked 20 miles on Saturday, ran 13.1 miles yesterday, and turned 62 today.  Happy birthday to an amazing dad!

I love you.

Book Page Pumpkin… Loving It!!!

I am in LOVE with this book page pumpkin.  It is a full book cut into the shape of a pumpkin, hot-glued, and spray-painted orange…. aaah!  The tutorial from Kara at Creations by Kara is super easy, and you’ll be able to make one today.  So, go for it.  Head to the Goodwill for a couple of old books and make some (I bet a school librarian would love one of these!  Major brownie points… hehehe!)

Creations by Kara

By the way, you will love everything Kara’s got going on.  So, check her blog out today.  I promise you won’t be sorry.  In fact, grab a Coke; you’ll be there a while (wink, wink).

He Loves Me.

sweet dane

My darling Dane is such a sweet boy.  Today, he made this picture for me and taped it on our front door, but first, let me tell you why it’s so sweet because you may not know what it is.

On his first day of preschool, I put a little note in his bag that had nothing but a picture on it.  The picture was “I love you”, but in sign language (a hand with all fingers out except the middle two).  He could look at it  in case he got scared, and he’d know that I loved him and was thinking about him.

So, today, he wrote me a note that said he loved me but with no words, except his name and a picture.  It’s a tiny gesture to sign that little sentence to someone, but it means soooo much!  I hope you tell someone that today :)

I’m Sewing on Paper… Again.

IMG_8936
Sewing on paper?  What?
Seriously, just get out your embroidery floss and some cardstock and go to town.  It’s so much more fun than sewing on fabric (although, I do enjoy that, too).  I made this little card for our friends’ anniversary, and it was so fun and easy.  I saw the template and tutorial at Make and Takes.  If you’ve never been there before, get ready for a treat.  There are soooo many awesome projects that you won’t know which one to do first.  So, go ahead and take a visit.

Tell her Miranda sent you, on your Coke break, of course (wink, wink)!
