When it started to appear that our darling Dane’s smile was “giving us the finger,” we knew it wouldn’t be long before the Tooth Fairy would be making a stop at our house.
With Dane’s tooth looking like it wouldn’t be in his little mouth much longer, I told him that we really needed to get it out before he swallowed it while eating dinner. So, as I nervously and gently grabbed ahold of his tooth, it literally came right out! Phew!
It is the first tooth any of our children have ever lost! This moment, ridiculous as it sounds, was kind of sad for me- my baby is growing up, and this was one of those many things that will happen as he grows up.
Grant was a little disappointed that he, as the oldest, didn’t lose the first tooth in our family. Of course, Dane enthusiastically piped up and said, “It’s fair because you were born first, and I get to lose a tooth first.” I guess you can’t argue with that logic.
Since this tooth loss caught me off guard, I was not prepared to play the role of Tooth Fairy. So, like any crafty mom and blogger, I turned to my fellow mom bloggers for inspiration and ideas.
I found the cutest free printable Tooth Fairy Invoice from How Does She?. Dane filled it out, dropped his tooth in, and waited for the overnight magic to happen.
Alas, the magic of the Tooth Fairy was felt throughout our home. That crazy fairy gal left “fairy dust” (aka Martha Stewart glitter) all over Dane’s room and even on his dollar!
Best. Morning. Ever.
Pure magic!
{To get his dollar covered in fairy dust, it involved hairspray and glitter. Now you do the math for that one… hehe!}
